A death registration was found for Ellen Woolridge: Year of Registration: 1904; Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec; Age at Death: 25; District: Sturminster (To 1958); County: Dorset; Volume: 5a; Page: 150.

In 1908, Walter Woolridge, 9, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 175 Barnardo children en route to Peterborough and Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

On February 7, 1917, at Brantford, Ontario, Canada, Walter Woolridge, 18, enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. He declared that he resided at RR No. 8, Dumville, Ontario, Canada; that he was born in Surrey, England; that his next of kin was his father, Thomas Woolridge, who resided in Blandford [Dorset, England]; that his date of birth was December 25, 1898; that he was a farm labourer; and that he was not married. He was described as 5 foot 8 inches in height; dark complexion; brown eyes; brown hair. He was a member of the Church of England.

On May 13, 1917, Sapper Walter Woolridge, 18, was killed in battle in Belgium. He is buried at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery (Grave Reference: XII. B. 8A).
